I realized that in this place, one has to work really really fast to keep up. No compromising, no negotiating even with oneself. With things starting to pile up, once momentum is lost or if self-discipline is absent, it's easy to lag. It's even more fast- paced than the 4 years I had to obtain my degree.

I just have to remind myself that the study part is just for 6 months to be precise (after deducting the holidays) before practicum starts and that after that, it'll be another qualification obtained. Got to tahan, got to tahan... haha...

I'm proud that I made full use of my 7-hour "free" time :).

2 days ago when a fren and I were slacking in between lessons at this student hub which is like a place for discussion of stuff, the sofa we were sitting on was facing 2 guys from another group.

Guy 1: I hope to be the top for the courses (*couldn't tell if he was joking)

Guy 2: You're planning to dress up as a bear right? (*we're going to have this Director Run Day whereby ppl who wanna take part can dress up as an endangered animal. Hence the bear...)

Guy 1: No, I mean top student for the subjects.

Guy 2: Ya but you're planning to dress up as a bear right?

Guy 1: I mean academically... (*he gave up explaining himself)

It was so funny listening to them and we were laughing like mad over that. Dunno if they realized we're laughing at them.

Bear...

The author of The Last Lecture has passed away on 24 July. He's the author of the book given to me by a colleague. His "Last Lecture" (Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams) can be viewed on youtube with the link below.

Through this, he has given something to his three children to remember him by.

The Art course seemed quite fun when I was looking at the slides. Probably going to have pottery lessons, etc. So far all subject coordinators have been quite vague about the subjects. Makes it all the more unpredictable and secretive "-_- Not a good thing. Transparency please...

According to the program sheet for orientation. The talk on Art was supposed to be at 3pm. Since our talks for core subjects were until 12pm. The time in between should be for social studies and music (which is not compulsory to attend - for people who are not interested in taking up one of these non core). Therefore I took a bus out to JP and went back to the LT at 2.45. One of the lecturer's assistants approached me to ask why I was there. Then she told me, "It's already over my dear." Feigning patience but coming across as being impatient.

...

Can anyhow change timing? Luckily the nice lecturer played the slides "specially" for me and I also had the chance to grab a form to change a core subject to a non-core. Either the others who're interested in Art were lucky or they could predict that Art talk would start early.

*Scratch head*

Something must have possessed me to make me agree to take part in the inter-group sports challenge whereby we will be playing basketball. I don't even recall playing (read: being in a competition) basketball in my life.

Do note the word "agree" and not "volunteer".

Reason given: I'm tall (compared to the other group members who are girls).

Each group supposed to take part in at least 1 sport. Each team in it must have at least 1 girl (organizers probably could guess that the guys would be thrown to participate).

Netball maybe can, captain's ball maybe also can. All just throw and pass. Basketball is the more challenging one whereby not only must 1 be able to bounce the ball while dribbling, 1 has to note the positions of the team members.

"The brick walls are there to let us prove how badly we want something."

The brick walls...

The brick walls...

The brick walls...

Life can be a bitch. I can also be one.
But my bitchiness can never exceed that of some people.

God has eyes to see. Unfortunately mortals are blind.

Today will be my last day at work. Although I'm looking forward to a life of independence (no 30 children replying on me about what to do next...), I know I'm going to miss them a lot. I'm prepared the farewell cum advance Children's Day gifts for them. Hope they will like them :D

The new teacher surprised me by conspiring with them about a TOP SECRET. *Children love secrets....* She prepared a picture of a tree on two A3 papers combined and got them to paste little notes shaped of apples, pears and leaves. It's really really heartwarming that she bothered to do such a thing considering that we've only known each other for almost 3 weeks. Her energy is an inspiration especially for someone who's not 100% healthy. I've learnt a lot from her since she's very experienced.

She's one of the blessings I've at this school. With someone offering tips and advice, it really helps a lot. Her personal gift to me was a book that inspired her and she wanted to share with me and 13 or 14 other ppl (she told me she bought 15 books. Same title! So that she could give away). I don't know if she's given away all the books yet but I'm really honoured to be let into this sharing session.

I shall read this book soon!

In a way, I do feel kind of bad for not being able to offer anything in return for all she has done.

My second blessing is sort of different. It's this person who would look for me when he needed someone to stand in for teachers when they couldn't make it for tuition sessions. He's grateful to me for helping out and even told other admin staff about it (*paiseh...) but he didn't know that by giving me the opportunity, I was also able to take in extra income.

I should sleep now.

I dreamt of Jesus last night.

"-_-

His presence was so great in the dream. He appeared quickly like a flash (in the dark) and at that particular instant, my alarm clock sounded and woke me up.

How extraordinary that dream was...

"You'll miss them. This will hit you suddenly."

The new teacher told me this last week.

I guess I won't be hit all that sudden because I'm starting to miss them already. There are pupils who approach me in class to ask about schoolwork because they are more familiar with me. However, I'm sure kids being kids, they will warm up to the new teacher soon. She can be very animated and entertaining :D

My dear girl gave me another craft as a present. She asked me if she could give me another 1 tomorrow. I think it's probably because she forgot to add something or she felt that it's not nice enough. I do welcome presents of coz! I left it in school but shall take a picture of it tomorrow hoho... Little presents like this mean a lot to me. Serve as a remembrance especially since they were my very first form class.

It's the honeymoon period for me these days. Without having to mark stuff or bring the children out to the gate, I can leave on the dot. ;P
