It wasn't as fantastic as I had hoped. Ok, in the first place, I didn't know what to expect either, just went with an open mind. However, it seemed like many things these days, just a touch and go process and I didn't even bother to try to be creative with my designs, given that we had limited time, limited icing colours (green and white only..) and limited albeit adorable little sprinkles in the shape of gingerbreadman, snowflakes and candy canes. All of us ended up with kind of similar end product.
However, more importantly, I would say was that I did manage to learn new stuff too :) So it's not totally a waste also. That's what the intention of taking up a course right? To learn a skill rather than to produce a fantastic end product on the first time. Probably takes more practice (ALOT more practice..). Somehow the teacher didn't even pay much attention to my work too. She probably didn't know what to say about my designs hahaha... Or perhaps my look was too serious during the piping process and it scared her ;P They were kind enough to give us each a packet of cupcake mix because we, 6 students were accomodating enough to allow the 7th person to join (this person mistakenly thought her slot was in the afternoon instead of in the morning...). More ppl means lesser attention from the trainer for each of us you see...
And nope, I didn't take pictures. Didn't bring my digicam (forgotten to actually) and I certainly wasn't impressed enough to take photos with the trainer.
The shop sells many pretty and exquisite stuff for baking though. Sprinkles in all shapes.. My favourite's definitely the gingerbreadman haha.. My beloved Gingy... Little little things which you never knew existed for sale in the baking world... they have them there! The shops abit ulu though.. being at Newton and not exactly that near the MRT station...
Got to try my newfound skill on a batch of cupcakes I'm going to make with the mix.
Want some? ;PLabels: Bake
