Can you believe it? It's actually my first time taking medical leave when working. Usually in the past, no matter what happened, I would still bravely go to work whether it's a temp. or supposedly perm job. However, those were the days when I didn't have to use so much of my voice.

I actually tried today but I discovered my voice getting more and more hoarse after each period until my pupils asked me why. That was when I decided to take MC and be excused from the Sentosa trip tomorrow. I don't think I can handle an average of 15 pupils (a parent would be going too) when we're outside with my voice becoming insignificant, especially for pupils who are usually quite indifferent to my yells. "-_-

I guess many of us who are working need some time to get the momentum back and to get back to work again. This is especially so when 1 hour of curriculum time was taken up by CNY celebrations. Yes, we actually celebrated today instead...

I saw the girl who was in Primary 2 last year, who asked me why I was so tall. I have actually taken her class for a few periods last year. Today she called me from behind. How she's grown! It's strange how within just a few months, kids can change so much. Surely, moving on from end of Primary 2 to beginning of Primary three shouldn't make that great a difference...

When I was thinking of this, a sudden thought came to mind too. I wonder if a person where to lay on a bed for a year and fed normal diet, with a videocam focusing on the person every single second for 1 year, after which we fast forward the whole thing (provided we've that much time...) what would growth look like? Would we actually be able to see the person growing taller (i.e. growing longer since he/ she is lying down...)? Strange isn't it? How we take for granted increase in height and everything and only notice the difference once a year when height is being measured during P.E.

I wonder if they can actually get a relief teacher to stand in for the trip tomorrow. Sigh...
