The current channel 8 drama serial at 9 is a bore. I wouldn't watch it if there's something better on TV at this time slot. It's a time when I will be using my laptop and have the TV on at the same time. Mediacorp is seriously running out of ideas. I see imitation. Resemblance to My Sassy Gal storyline, that is. With Jeanette Aw as a girl with lots of pent-up emotions and would tear for no rhyme or reason in each episode when she thinks of her dead ex. Her character found a replacement in the form of a toot-toot Elvin Ng who is willing to do anything foolish for her, which includes jumping into the waters at the beach to look for a ring which she deliberately threw in to make him look for - it being a condition he must fulfill in order for her to be his girlfriend. She has the tendency to make unreasonable demands and questioning him about everything. However, with her manja voice, I feel anything but touched when watching it.

Just yesterday or the day before, in the Newpaper, there was a report about Joanne Peh's new show being a copycat of the swimming drama serial (Ren Wo Au You) which Fiona starred in last time. In it, Joanne, Jade Seah and Jesseca Liu having to run around at Tiong Bahru market in bikinis after they lost a bet with a rival team. After much hoo-ha and publicity over the scene in the swimming show, now they are recycling the idea again. First time = success, subsequent times = cheap imitation. Mediacorp never learns.

:P

On more serious matters... There seems to be many natural disasters these days. Within a short period somemore. Cyclone in Myanmar, cyclone in the U.S. and just today, reports on major earthquake in China. All within these couple of weeks only. Probably a sign that the world is coming to an end. Slowly but surely. Too much sin in this world anyway, not that those who died are sinful lah. In fact, to die in such ways, it's very tragic and they deserve our sympathies.

May the survivors be able to get aid soon.

News on 5 just featured something about the ghost at Raffles Place. Turns out that it's actually to spread awareness to people about work-life balance and to remind people not to stay back for work until too late. Hahaha... Interesting.. But not scary lor... Ironically, I viewed that video clip when I was staying late in the staffroom and wanted to take a break after all the marking. So much for discouraging people from staying back! :D
