I've never really been interested in the actual date of the course. It was the curiosity (and concern) of my reporting officer that propelled me to inquire about it with my beloved headquarters. Strangely, a few days after one of the staff replied my email (I love to email them instead of calling straight ), there on my table today, sits the deeds that I have to fill up.

I didn't really feel anything. Am just concerned that the date on which I have to go down to sign is a bit too soon although of course I already have all these months to think about it. After setting the papers aside, I noticed my class's maths papers on my desk. The teacher sure marked them very quickly. Looking through the mark list, double Ds filled my mind and heart. Disappointment and discouragement. These 2 words sure tell a l0t don't they?

Anyway, that's not over yet. Another colleague came to me to ask me if I went through every script of the class I was invigilating the other day because it turned out that there were 2 pupils were left like 1-2 pages undone.

Apparently, it's the practice of the school for the invigilator to walk around and look through every pupil's script to make sure all questions have been attempted. I didn't do a marking at the corner of their script to indicate that I'd look through. I must have missed them out and carelessly assumed that ALL pupils would put up their hands to get me to look through their paper because that was what the rest of the pupils did. It was just plain unlucky that I had to miss out the scripts of those who did not complete. "-_-

I'm kind of worried that they would fail their exam because of this although of course it's also their own fault for not checking their own papers. Felt bad but this nice teacher asked me not to blame myself.

Where does the responsibility of teachers stop? These days, even when kids don't complete their papers, teachers have to be around to remind. Shouldn't they be responsible for their own exams? Sometimes I really feel that what teachers are doing, have already exceeded their call of duty. A line has to be drawn somewhere but then, customers are always right, aren't they?
