Currently, I'm trying to clear the compo exam papers before Saturday so that I can have a more relaxing weekend without having to think about having to complete this or that. It's more stressful to mark than to write compositions in my humble opinion.

I'm always in a dilemma as to how many marks I should award. Bearing in mind that it's upon 10, even 1/2 mark makes a whole lots of difference. It could be a matter of passing and failing. It could also mean being average or being slightly above average when compared to fellow classmates. On one hand, I don't want there to be any unfair advantage (although I'm not marking my own class's). On the other hand, I really don't like to fail anyone.

Hao ren nan dang...

And really, with ten being the total, there's only that much difference one can allow. Marking compositions is all in all, a very subjective matter. Sure, there are guidelines for the breakdown. However, it still depends on your own feelings while reading right? There's no hard and fast rule when it comes to marking it. No formula. No anything.

Just hope to be very impartial.
