Once again I stood in for the tuition session. In fact, 2 teachers were rushing to get me to stand in for them. Probably coz they were super sian about staying on until night time. Unfortunately, I picked the wrong class. You see, we are paid according to the number of pupils for the class. Turned out that many of the pri 5 pupils did not turn up today. Ok but in a way, I was thankful because a smaller class meant less rowdiness. No matter how tired I am, I try to oblige when it comes to tuition sessions. Treating it as something extra to add on to my income.

When I gave out the prizes today, the pupils were of course very happy. However, the most prominent of all was a boy who got Best In Progress for English. I guess it could be because he's never received any academic- related prizes before so he was genuinely stunned when I announced his name. It made me feel that it's worthwhile spending money on such prizes. At times, such low ability pupils need something to boost their morale and give them a sense of self- worth. I just hope he'll work even harder to pass the next time round and not slack after receiving the prize.
