Just last week, a few people of us who were discussing nothing in particular at Swensen's (we always seem to have meetings at such places). Along came the topic about exercising and slimming down (it was brought up coz someone in the group was getting married). Somehow it was agreed unanimously that swimming doesn't help in losing weight because it builds muscles instead and people don't sweat.
Actually I don't agree. Being in the water doesn't mean perspiration doesn't take place. Also, swimming doesn't mean having to build up muscles unless you are swimming to break Tao Li's record or something. Noticed that only National swimmers have muscles? Whenever I go to the pool, people who can swim well (even females) don't have the frightening incredible hulk muscles. So it's really a myth.
Today's the first yoga session. Hot yoga (room had heater creating an environment with human body temperature). I tell you, I've never sweat so much for such a long time. Just within 45min. Sweat was DRIPPING ok? Not just trickling but dripping. It's great! Refreshing too :D It would have been better if I had been able bend more like others but since there's a metal attached to my spine, I didn't wanna exert too much pressure. I was given a free 7-day pass by the customer representative, which was quite unexpected coz it's meant to be just a trial for me, the guest. However, it's unlikely that I will be able to make many trips down. Nevertheless, today's experience was quite an enjoyable one.
